30th January is annually celebrated as National Cleanliness Day in India – A day that serves as a reminder to keep our surroundings and homes clean. However, a perspective most of us miss out on is viewing ‘pollution as waste’. This is exactly what Yulu aims to tackle.
India’s efforts to clean up
Since the Swachh Bharat mission’s launch in 2014, the sanitation coverage went up to 80%, from a meagre 40%. However, the path towards a clean community & subsequently a clean country is still a far-fetched dream, considering the multitude of sectors of life yet to be focused on.
Yulu’s day out – Green Rally x Malleshwaram5kRun
In an effort to do our part, on National Cleanliness Day 2021, Yulu partnered with Malleshwaram5kRun Foundation, to organise a clean-up rally whose primary objective was to identify garbage spots in selected areas and report them to BBMP administrative body.
The rally was held at Malleshwaram & witnessed the participation of 30 volunteers from the foundation. Ex-corporator Kadumalleshwara Ward 65, Manjunath Raju & the Secretary of Kannada Development Authority, Dr. K Muralidhar presided over the event.
Post the event, the rally organisers from the foundation had all praises for their green mobility partner!
“We really appreciate Yulu being our Green Mobility partner and found using Yulu Miracles, a smooth and simple process!”, they recounted.
Since Yulu’s inception in 2017, we have strived to minimise our carbon footprint while helping people follow a green path and living closer to the environment. A greener & cleaner commute – that’s what Yulu has been, and will always be about!
